This Beast-Tamer is a Little Strange

Chapter 106: Chapter 106: Evolution Simulations (2)

----------------------------------

Species: Illusionbane Amoeba

A dramatic shift from the original Brain-Eating Amoeba, now possessing the ability to manipulate reality through illusions. This evolved microorganism has absorbed the essence of the Eye of Illusion, enabling it to create powerful, disorienting hallucinations within its hosts.

By distorting the perception of reality, the Phantasmic Devourer can induce fear, confusion, and vulnerability in its victims, making it a formidable predator in both mental and physical realms.

Quality: Silver

Type: Microorganism (Amoeba)

Attribute: Mental

Skills:

S-Hallucination Inducer: The Illusionbane Amoeba can infect a host and project vivid, terrifying hallucinations directly into their mind. These illusions can range from visual distortions to disturbing scenarios, causing severe mental distress and disorientation.

Victims with spiritual power equal to or lower than the Phantasmic Devourer are entirely consumed by these hallucinations, while those with up to one grade higher experience intense fear and confusion.

S-Illusionary Veil: Outside of a host, this skill allows the Illusionbane Amoeba to cloak itself and its immediate environment in illusions, making it completely conceal its presence or appear as something entirely different. This ability is highly effective against creatures with spiritual power up to one grade higher, providing stealth and evasion in both aquatic and terrestrial environments.

A-Mind Warp: The Illusionbane Amoeba can warp the perceptions and senses of those it infects altering their sense of reality and making it difficult for them to distinguish between what is real and what is not. This can lead to impaired decision-making and susceptibility to further attacks.

B-Illusionary Spawn: The Phantasmic Devourer can create illusionary duplicates of other entities, which can be used to mislead, confuse, or distract opponents. These illusions can mimic physical attacks but do not cause real harm, making them effective for tactical deception.

----------------------------------

There were 2 S-level skills!

However, similar to the previous evolution, Kain was worried about a reduction in Bea's killing abilities. Bea's ability to create detailed hallucinations and illusions would undoubtedly be greatly enhanced as a result of this evolution, but her killing ability was once again practically gone.

Additionally, there was no mention of the production of any kind of split or clone. Is this evolution only able to infect one individual at a time?

Kain was getting worried. Although he had the Vespirae to serve as attackers, and Bea becoming an extremely formidable support wasn't the worst thing, he still did not want to give up her lethality either.

'Third time's the charm' Kain thought, before starting a third evolution with the Dreamweaver's Silk Core.

----------------------------------

Species: Nightmare Weaver Amoeba

An evolved form of the Brain-Eating Amoeba, having absorbed the essence of the Dreamweaver's Silk Core. This advanced microorganism can now traverse and manipulate dreams with ease. By integrating dreams with reality, the Nightmare Weaver can inflict real damage based on what occurs within a host's dreams.

Its presence induces a constant state of unease, as the line between dreams and reality becomes dangerously blurred.

Quality: Gold

Type: Microorganism (Amoeba)

Attribute: Mental, Dark

Skills:

S-Nightmare Weaving: The Nightmare Weaver can enter the dreams of any sleeping creature within its range up to one grade higher. Once inside, it can manipulate the dreamscape, creating scenarios that cause psychological distress. Injuries or traumatic events within these dreams can manifest as real physical harm upon waking, leading to severe consequences for the victim.

It is possible to cause fatal injuries in hosts up to one grade higher, but those with higher spiritual power than the Nightmare Weaver may fight the dream and wake before a fatal injury can be dealt.

A-Multiple Manipulation: The Nightmare Weaver can alter the dream environments of multiple targets simultaneously through the use of split-off mental projections of itself.

A-Terror Projection: The Nightmare Weaver can project intense fear directly into the minds of its targets, making them more susceptible to manipulation and psychological damage. This terror can affect creatures with spiritual power up to two grades higher, causing significant mental and emotional turmoil.

B-Dreamweaver's Embrace: By connecting with a target's dreams, the Nightmare Weaver can create a telepathic link that allows it to feed on the target's emotional and psychological states, which can then be converted to a constant supply of spiritual power.

----------------------------------

Gold quality! And finally, some fatal attack abilities!

However, Kain noticed that the Nightmare Weaver had a fatal weakness, it can invade the dreams of those sleeping, but nowhere in the panel does it describe a skill capable of making that target fall asleep! If he had a contract similar to Elias, they could maybe work together. But he didn't!

Was he supposed to wait until those against him got tired out and fell asleep during the re-ranking and National College Championship?

'Ugh! And so it continues…'

Kain continued the process substituting the Subliminal Orb and Mindleech Vine each during the fourth and fifth simulations. The following evolutions were obtained:

----------------------------------

Species: Subjugator Amoeba

An evolved form of the Brain-Eating Amoeba, having absorbed the essence of the Subliminal Orb. This microorganism now excels in subtle, yet profound, mind control and influence. The Sovereign Manipulator can subtly alter perceptions, control thoughts, and direct the actions of its victims with remarkable precision.

By embedding itself in the subconscious, it becomes an unseen puppet master, able to bend others to its will with minimal detection.

Quality: Gold

Type: Microorganism (Amoeba)

Attribute: Mental

Skills:

S-Mind Dominion: The Subjugator Amoeba can exert subtle control over the thoughts and actions of its hosts, influencing their decisions and behaviors without their conscious awareness. Victims with spiritual power equal to or lower than the Sovereign Manipulator are fully controlled, while those with up to one grade higher experience strong but less complete influence.

A-Generals of Subjugation: The Subjugator can produce progeny capable of infecting and subjugating a target.

A-Covert invasion: The presence of the Subjugator is nearly impossible to detect in the environment by those at the same level of spiritual power and lower. However, once the Subjugator Amoeba integrates perfectly with the brain it becomes completely undetectable to creatures with a spiritual power up to one grade higher.

B-Mental Shield: The Subjugator Amoeba generates a psychic barrier that protects it from mental intrusions and counter-manipulation attempts. This shield also helps it maintain control over its targets by preventing external mental interference.

----------------------------------

Species: Memory Devouring Amoeba

The Memory Devourer represents a terrifying evolution of the Brain-Eating Amoeba, transformed by the essence of the Mindleech Vine. This advanced microorganism has evolved to possess incredibly potent mind-reading abilities, capable of extracting and consuming the memories of its victims.

The Memory Devourer's presence is marked by its ability to delve into the deepest recesses of the mind, unraveling thoughts and memories with surgical precision. Unfortunately for its victims, this process is not without severe consequences—those who fall prey to the Memory Devourer often suffer from complete brain death.

Quality: Gold

Type: Microorganism (Amoeba)

Attribute: Mental

Skills:

S-Memory Extraction: The Memory Devourer can invade the minds of its targets and extract their memories with extreme precision. This ability allows it to read and understand every detail of the victim's past experiences and knowledge.

Victims with spiritual power equal to or lower than the Memory Devourer are completely drained of their memories and die from the immense damage to their brain, while those with up to one grade higher experience severe memory loss and cognitive disruption.

S-Mind expansion: Vine-like psychic tendrils can be extended from the main body to infiltrate the minds of nearby entities upon contact and begin the memory extraction process.

A-Memory Corruption: The Memory Devourer can implant temporary false memories or temporarily distort existing ones, causing confusion and disorientation. This ability can lead to severe psychological distress, as targets struggle to distinguish between reality and the fabricated memories.

B-Psychic Harvest: The Memory Devourer can consume the extracted memories to enhance its own spiritual power and cognitive abilities. This ability allows it to pass on knowledge to its contractor and there is an extremely small chance of realizing new skills from the memories of its victims.

----------------------------------

It seems that no matter what, Bea is destined to lose the water attribute and the seamless integration and rapid proliferation skills along with it.

Although many of the evolutions seem to still possess the ability to produce many splits, he was unable to tell from the description how long or many splits would be produced and how it compared to the original skill.

Additionally, unlike seamless integration, not all of the evolutions have the ability to perfectly conceal themselves from the target.

Kain believes that due to Bea's small size, she can still integrate into the mist and be carried by water droplets larger than her, but now her presence may be more easily detected by targets without a skill for concealment.

All of the evolutions have their own pros and cons, which was why he wanted to try some additional experiments.

Kain had learned in class that it was possible to use multiple base materials, but a strong stabilizer would be needed during the evolution to allow the multiple base materials to seamlessly integrate into one form.

This is the reason he did not yet use the Cerebral Core. It was described as providing a solid foundation and increasing the chances of success during evolution for those with a mental-attribute.

Based on this description he felt it would function more as a stabilizer, rather than the basis for an evolutionary form. Therefore, he wanted to use his remaining 2 evolution attempts to try combining the different evolutionary forms to hopefully get one able to satisfy him.
