Super Gene Ⅱ: Evolution

Chapter 261: Chapter 261 Regretted it

From beginning to end, he never saw the Hell Gatekeeper and didn\'t want to.

"Mission accomplished." Back inside the flying machine, Lin Shen handed the Archangel\'s Sword to Tian Xun.

"Very good." Tian Xun, however, didn\'t care much for the Archangel\'s Sword, simply placing it aside.

"What were you doing beside my friend\'s corpse just now?" Tian Xun didn\'t start the flying machine, instead focusing her gaze on Lin Shen as she inquired.

"His name was \'my friend\'?" Lin Shen was slightly startled, immediately realizing from Tian Xun\'s words that he might have misunderstood something before.

"You didn\'t know?" Seeing Lin Shen\'s expression wasn\'t feigned, Tian Xun knew her previous guess was correct; there was no relationship between Lin Shen and \'my friend,\' and he didn\'t even know of this person.

"A human with no connection to \'my friend\' managed to learn the Twenty-Eight Fists from my friend\'s deceased body; does this fellow truly possess such remarkable intelligence!" Tian Xun\'s expression turned complex.

She had seen \'my friend\'s\' body many times herself but had never made anything of it. Was Lin Shen\'s talent surpassing her own?

"No idea, never heard the name before. I thought his name was Slaughterer King," Lin Shen explained.

"If you didn\'t know him, why were you taking notes in a little notebook?" Tian Xun stared at Lin Shen as she asked.

"I have a friend whose surname is also Slaughterer. I thought the corpse\'s name was Slaughterer King and perhaps a relative of his, so I wanted to sketch it to show him later. If it turned out to be a relative, it would be like doing a good deed," Lin Shen explained, pulling out the notebook and showing Tian Xun the sketch he made of \'my friend.\'

Tian Xun glanced at it and found that was indeed the case, though Lin Shen\'s drawing skills were truly rough. Had she not seen the real thing, she would never have guessed what it was supposed to be just by looking at Lin Shen\'s sketch.

However, when comparing the sketch with the real thing, there was indeed a resemblance.

"You\'re not going to tell me that you understood the Twenty-Eight Fists just by drawing his likeness, are you?" Tian Xun\'s voice was somewhat cold.

"What Twenty-Eight Fists?" Lin Shen feigned confusion, then had a sudden realization, "You mean those movements? I saw them on his body and just imitated them casually."

Lin Shen knew that every word and action of his was being monitored by Tian Xun, and it was certain there was no way to hide anything.

He had no intention of hiding from Tian Xun. He turned to the next page in his notebook and then handed it to Tian Xun.

"While sketching, I noticed some odd patterns on the Carapace, some that weren\'t naturally formed but were engraved later, so I drew them. Later on, I realized these patterns resembled human movements, so I tried imitating them. I never expected they would turn out to be actual human movements, let alone that such movements could wound with Fist Power from a distance.

It was truly unexpected..." Lin Shen did not conceal anything and spoke the truth.

Tian Xun, unable to spot any inconsistencies, started to examine the patterns Lin Shen had drawn.

Lin Shen\'s drawing skills were quite abstract, with his pattern renderings being much simpler than the originals, striving primarily for an essence of the likeness.

As Tian Xun studied them, she really couldn\'t see how the patterns were related to human movements.

This made Tian Xun momentarily doubt her own intelligence and comprehension abilities, "Could it be that this human has a stronger capacity for understanding than I do?"

Tian Xun watched Lin Shen for a while but said nothing, instead starting the flying machine and navigating with Lin Shen through the Star Belt.

"Where are we going?" Lin Shen realized that Tian Xun had no intention of taking him back to the village. This was the wrong road.

"To my place, we\'ll have a good chat about these movements," Tian Xun said.

"That\'s no problem, but before we go, could I first return home? It\'s getting close to dark, and if I don\'t go back, my sister will worry." Lin Shen\'s round trip had taken more than fifty hours, and including the time taken by the aircraft from the village to the Star Belt, it had been more than sixty hours. In less than twenty hours, it would be dark again.

If he didn\'t return before nightfall, Lin Shen feared his sister would go out looking for him, regardless of the risks.

"Don\'t worry, I\'ve already sent someone to fetch your sister. You\'ll be meeting her soon," said Tian Xun as she piloted the aircraft.

As long as his sister was safe, Lin Shen pondered in his heart whether Tian Xun might silence him.

Although Tian Xun hadn\'t shown it, Lin Shen could tell she placed great importance on the so-called Twenty-Eight Fists.

Lin Shen wouldn\'t mind giving her the drawings of Twenty-Eight Fists, even teaching it to her personally was no issue.

What Lin Shen feared was that after learning Twenty-Eight Fists, Tian Xun might eliminate the one person who knew it—him.

"Is Twenty-Eight Fists very powerful?" Lin Shen tentatively asked.

"Of course, it\'s extremely powerful," Tian Xun did not intend to hide it, continuing to fly the aircraft as she spoke. "It was a fist technique that amazed an era."

Hearing her say this, Lin Shen\'s heart skipped a beat.

With such a powerful technique, the chances of her silencing him seemed even higher.

"Such an amazing fist technique must have had many practitioners, right?" Lin Shen continued to probe.

"Initially, it was only known to my friend. Now it has long been lost. Perhaps you are now the only person in the universe who knows Twenty-Eight Fists," Tian Xun saw through Lin Shen\'s thoughts and said with a smile while looking at him.

Lin Shen sighed softly, asked no more questions, and closed his eyes to rest against the back of the chair.

He now regretted meddling. He shouldn\'t have bothered with drawing the likeness; if he hadn\'t drawn it, he wouldn\'t have discovered those special patterns, and having discovered the patterns, he shouldn\'t have imitated them on the spot. It was curiosity that killed the cat, after all.

Seeing Lin Shen\'s bitter expression, Tian Xun burst into laughter.

"This guy really is as timid as a mouse," said Tian Xun with a smile. "Regretting now? Unfortunately, it\'s too late. Now that you\'re the only person in the universe who knows Twenty-Eight Fists, I have no choice but to silence you."

"You won\'t do it," Lin Shen said with his eyes still closed, actually feeling more relaxed.

"Oh? You think I won\'t?" Tian Xun\'s expression turned cold, and her eyes were as sharp as knives.

"You haven\'t learned it yet. What if you can\'t learn it? If you can\'t, would you still have the heart to kill the only person who knows Twenty-Eight Fists?" Lin Shen spoke calmly.

"You think if you don\'t teach, I can\'t learn it?" Tian Xun said coldly.

"Not only will I teach, but I\'ll also teach with dedication and attention to detail. What if you still can\'t learn it then?" Lin Shen opened his eyes and looked at Tian Xun as he spoke.
