Chapter 314: Chapter 314 Follow Me
Several members of the Other Races nearby who were digging for items, upon seeing the Wolf Fang Club Spirit Base on Lin Shen\'s back, all turned their gazes on him, some filled with greed.
Lin Shen had no choice; the item was simply too big to hide.
Since it had already been seen by others, Lin Shen didn\'t bother to cover it up. In that pit, he also dug up two palm-sized bones which likely belonged to the Giant God Clan. He directly gave one to Yun.
As the two were about to continue further inside, a group of people approached them, blocking their way.
"Is there a problem?" Lin Shen glanced at them and asked coldly.
"Please don\'t misunderstand, friend; we have no designs on the Spirit Base you\'ve unearthed." A man covered in golden hair spoke lightly, "Do you remember me, friend?"
"I don\'t remember, who are you?" Lin Shen glanced at him, genuinely without any recollection—he was the kind of person who didn\'t remember others well.
"It appears that important people often forget these things. At the market, you bought the Giant God\'s Bone. I was one of the bidders at that time," said the golden-haired man, not showing any annoyance and still speaking indifferently.
"Oh, seems like there was such an incident," Lin Shen said, recalling after the man\'s words; it did seem to ring a bell.
However, this golden-haired man wasn\'t the one who had made an offer before Lin Shen; since he had given up early on, Lin Shen didn\'t have a strong impression of him.
"Are you still interested in the Giant God\'s Bone?" Lin Shen asked him.
"The item was purchased by you; I don\'t have that much money, nor do I have the face to ask for your belongings," the golden-haired man shook his head.
"Then what do you mean?" Lin Shen was somewhat surprised.
"She has some relation to me; I need to take her away." The golden-haired man pointed at Yun as he spoke.
"I don\'t know him," Yun exclaimed with a shocked expression, immediately shaking her head at Lin Shen and then hiding behind him.
"Did you hear that?" Lin Shen looked at him coldly and said.
"Yun, stop making a scene. I was wrong before to lose my temper with you. But no matter what, we are still husband and wife, is there anything we can\'t talk about properly? Why involve an outsider? I really realize my mistake, please don\'t be angry anymore," the Golden-haired man said with a look of deep affection.
"You\'re talking nonsense; I don\'t know you at all," Yun anxiously hid behind Lin Shen, "Don\'t believe him; I really don\'t know him."
"Friend, you must find this embarrassing," the golden-haired man turned to Yun with a suddenly stern face, "Yun, please don\'t do this. No matter what I did wrong, you can\'t just find another man to upset me. Your lineage, you can\'t tell outsiders; do you have any idea how dangerous it is?"
As he spoke, the golden-haired man was about to grab Yun, but was directly blocked by Lin Shen\'s hand.
"You\'d better not lay a hand on her," Lin Shen warned the golden-haired man with a cold voice.
The golden-haired man\'s eyes flashed with a chilly light as he stared at Lin Shen and asked, "Are you sure you want to get involved in a matter between a husband and wife?"
As he spoke, the Other Races with him were already blocking all of Lin Shen\'s potential escape routes from different directions.
"Are you sure she\'s your wife?" Lin Shen asked him.
Yun appeared eager to say something but was stopped by Lin Shen, allowing her to stand behind him.
"Of course, if she\'s not my wife, could she possibly be your wife?" scoffed the golden-haired man.
"Good, then tell me, what is her full name?" Lin Shen asked, staring at him unblinkingly.
The golden-haired man hesitated slightly, and in that brief moment, Lin Shen knew his guess was correct; the golden-haired man was not Yun\'s husband.
Lin Shen had suspected that the blonde man might possess some kind of auditory skill, having eavesdropped on his conversation with Yun and learned that Yun had the bloodline of the Spirit Treasure Clan which could sense the location of Spirit Bases, thus he harbored greed and laid such a plan, intending to kidnap Yun for his own use.
"You had a chance to live, but you choose death instead?" the blonde man flipped his palm, and golden particles condensed into a golden claw blade in his hand.
"Ascenders!" Yun\'s face turned pale when she saw the claw blade Spirit Base.
The power of the Ascenders was far stronger than that of the Mutators. Although Lin Shen was exceptional, he was still just a Mutator, and he had no chance of winning against an Ascender.
As soon as the blonde man revealed his Spirit Base, Yun felt like her fate was already sealed.
Even if Lin Shen didn\'t abandon her, he would be killed by the blonde man, and she would end up in the blonde man\'s hands in the end.
"Just go..." Yun looked bitter, having resigned herself to her fate.
Boom!
But just as Yun had finished speaking, she saw Lin Shen, who stood in front of her, swing a fist directly at the blonde man.
Yun\'s view was blocked by Lin Shen\'s figure, and she couldn\'t see what happened, only hearing a loud sound. When she looked sideways, she saw a huge hole blasted in the chest of the blonde man, with blood spraying out from his back, staining the cobblestones behind him a vast red.
The nearby area suddenly fell silent. The blonde man seemed not to have realized he was already dead, still looking down at the large hole in his chest, his eyes filled with disbelief.
The other races that had come with the blonde man all wore faces full of shock.
Yun was also frozen in place, unable to believe what she had just seen.
For a Mutator to punch an Ascender to death was, in the eyes of those from the smaller races, impossible.
Yun knew that Lin Shen was one of the chosen to enter the forbidden zone, a place where only Mutators could enter, which is why she felt so desperate a moment ago.
But the turn of events was something she never imagined.
"I just hate bastards like you." As Lin Shen spoke, the body of the blonde man collapsed with a thunderous crash.
It was only then that the members of the other races recovered, turning tail and fleeing for their lives. They had no desire to fight against someone capable of killing an Ascender with a single punch.
The few of them were merely Mutators; Lin Shen didn\'t even need to act himself. He pulled out the Angel Revolver and fired the Frost Swordsman.
These garbage Mutators, facing the Frost Swordsman, couldn\'t even run away; they were chased down one by one and sent off to their deaths.
Lin Shen retracted the Frost Swordsman and picked up the blonde man\'s claw blade Spirit Base, a piece of First Turn trash.
"Go through their belongings and find anything valuable. Keep what you can use, and throw away the rest directly," Lin Shen said upon seeing that the blonde man didn\'t even have a Pet Gun, revealing him as a worthless Ascender; he couldn\'t be bothered to search the body himself.
Yun came back to her senses, gave Lin Shen a complex look as if she had made some kind of decision, then turned and ran over to search the bodies, finding all the valuable things and packing them into a big bag that she brought back to Lin Shen.
"Didn\'t I say keep what you can use and throw away the rest?" Lin Shen said, seeing there really wasn\'t anything good inside, not even a single mutated Pet Egg – just junk.
That the blonde man could achieve Ascension probably meant he had spent all his resources; there was no way he\'d have anything good left.
"I\'ll carry it back for you; we can sell it for money when we get to the bottom of the mountain," Yun insisted, shaking her head.
"You won\'t need to scavenge trash if you hang out with me," Lin Shen said with a smile.
Hearing this, Yun\'s hands loosened and the backpack dropped to the ground. She looked at Lin Shen, her eyes red and her voice trembling as she asked, "Can I... really?"
"Of course, as long as you\'re willing," Lin Shen said with a smile.
