Journey Towards Greatness

Chapter 570 - A Very Close Battle

As the battle continued Latios started to dominate the battlefield and soon it hit Swellow by a Dragon Pulse which sent the Swellow crashing into the ground but Ash's Swellow didn't seem to be down yet, it tried to get back into the air but Tobias didn't let that happen.

Tobias "Giga Impact"

Latios dove down very fast using a powerful Giga Impact and crashed into Swellow and sent it flying towards Ash, Swellow got knocked out cold after this putting Tobias in the lead again.

Ash called back his Swellow and sends out his Sceptile.

The battle started again and Latios seemed dominant at first but things started to change as Ash called out a Sunny Day, then started to blast Solar Beams at Latios and forced it to come closer for physical contact.

Ash seems to be planning for this and when he got his chance Ash called out Dual Chop, with two powerful chops to Latios head it went crashing into the ground but it was not out.

Tobias called out an Ice Beam and Ash countered it with a Solar Beam again and charged at Latios and landed another Dual Chop and this time Sceptile is able to put Latios down for good.

With this once again the battle has become a tie, this shocked many people.

Even Julian is surprised by how good Ash is handling himself right now. If this continues he might even win, Infernape's training had a very good effect on Ash's team, they are holding their own in this battle.

Even Tobias is shocked by this development, he thought that Ash would be strong but to match him was something he didn't expect.

The crowd started to get more riled up as they are waiting for Tobias to send out his next pokemon, he takes out a Pokeball and tosses it up in the air and a red and white pokemon comes out, seeing this pokemon the crowd goes wild again as it is another legendary pokemon, Latias.

Ash decided to stick with Sceptile but Tobias is not an easy opponent, he has already figured out how Sceptile battles after watching it take down Latios.

The battle started and it didn't even last two minutes before Latias took down Sceptile with a powerful Ice Beam from the back.

Sceptile got knocked out cold after that, seeing Sceptile going down so easily Ash got frustrated but soon calmed down and sent out his Torkoal next.

The battle started and Ash decided to play defensive and rise Torkoal defense to the maximum, Iron Defense after Iron Defense when Latias attacked with a Special Attack Torkoal will hide behind its Protect and once again go back to Iron Defense, as it kept altering between Protect and Iron Defense it became a tank.

Once Torkoal reached the limit to its Physical Defense it started to attack with Flamethrowers and Lava Plume, this battle dragged on for a long time before Tobias got the advantage with Latias's speed and landed a powerful Dragon Pulse from behind and getting another victory over Ash.

Now, Ash, has only two pokemon left, his Heracross, Sceptile, Swellow, and Torkoal have been taken down while Tobias has still four of his pokemon left.

His Darkrai and Latios are down, his Latias cannot continue for much longer after having a fierce battle with Torkoal, it lost lot of its energy during the long and hard battle trying to get through Torkoal Defense.

Ash didn't give up still, he still has his best pokemon ready to fight, Infernape has fully recovered its energy as it didn't use much of it when it took down Darkrai and Pikachu still hasn't taken the battlefield yet.

Ash sends out his Infernape once again, Infernape takes the stage and glares at Latias ready to battle, the battle starts and Tobias starts to put pressure on Infernape as he has seen what this Infernape is capable of doing but it doesn't work.

As Tobias was about to attack from behind again with a Giga Impact, Ash called for Infernape to use Counter.

As both attacks clashed with each other Infernape clearly had the advantage, Counter being a fighting move easily overcame the normal type move that is Giga Impact and on top of that, the power of the punch was too much for Latias to handle and it gout one punched by Ash's Infernape and got knocked out.

Now Tobias has three and Ash has two, his Infernape can still go for another round easily, seeing that this battle will be getting even harder for him Tobias smiled and took out his next Pokeball and tossed it up in the air and a massive Dragonite came out.

A Pseudo legendary, even though it's not a legendary pokemon, its reputation is not something one can ignore, they are the rarest of the pseudo legendary pokemons, the few know trainers who own a Dragonite are very little in history.

Lance is one of them who the world knows about, there are others as well but not well known by the public.

Julian 'This Tobias seems to have a team filled with pokemons that are second rate legendaries or pokemons that are similar in power'

He thought, by now it is very clear, Tobias's whole team is broken.

The battle starts and to everyone's surprise, Ash's Infernape is holding its own against the giant Dragonite, both are exchanging moves after moves, while the Dragonite does have the type advantage it doesn't seem to have much effect on the battle.

Julian 'Ash's Infernape has a ridicules amount of will power for it to channel so much energy, maybe that is why my Infernape was so interested in training it'

He thought and smiled while looking at his Infernape who is watching the battle closely.

As Infernape was getting weaker in the exchanges and Dragonite is using its Physical strength to push back Infernape, the battle took a turn when Infernape's Blaze kicked in.

With blaze activated Infernape became more powerful and started to land a barrage of punches and kicks on Dragonite with Close Combat, even though Dragonite resists Fighting-type moves, getting hit by so many does deal a lot of damage.

Tobias 'If this continues, Dragonite might go down'

Tobias "Giga Impact"

Ash "Counter with Focus Punch".
