Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva

Chapter 44: 23 Light Drizzle (Thanks to the Alliance Hierarch Hua Kai Yun Yan Shu)

In a quiet and impeccably tidy hall, Hexia stood in front of a consulting AI terminal, holding her dripping wet umbrella.

Drip-drip——

[Identity verification successful, commencing search in the archives...]

[Hello, according to our records, there is a 99.99% probability that you are the biological child of your parents...]

Upon hearing this, Hexia breathed a sigh of relief, then continued to listen.

[Your genetic map is identical to that of your deceased older sister. Although it is not documented, it can be inferred that you are either monozygotic twins or a clone.]

Alright, that\'s what I thought, Hexia had her answer in mind.

"Check if my mother has any records of frozen embryos or fertilized eggs."

[Such information is private to federal citizens, but according to Article 258, Section 5 of the Resident Privacy Confidentiality Act, after the death of the resident, their family has the right to be informed of privacy information related to themselves...]

[Your mother \'Gu Yongtian\' had a record of one frozen embryo, which was retrieved after being preserved for 6 years...]

So that\'s how it is, Hexia stared at the lines of data appearing on the screen, eventually finishing her interaction with the AI terminal after a long while.

She left the nearly empty and quiet hall, reopened her black umbrella, and stepped back into the rain-soaked world outside.

The sound of rain was incessant; countless droplets fell from the overcast sky, hitting the umbrella fabric, creating tiny splashes, and then sliding down the sleek surface.

Her mother indeed had twins that year, but due to various reasons, did not give birth to them together, choosing instead to freeze one of them – and that frozen one was herself.

The umbrella slowly spun, sprinkling a few droplets, as Hexia reminisced about her childhood, wondering what it would have been like to grow up alongside her sister.

Perhaps many things that followed would not have happened; whether it was personality or the study of the Transcendent Sequence, everything might have gone more smoothly.

But there are no ifs in life; they went through different lives, faced disparate environments, and the chance to stay in step like the legendary twins of history was now impossible.

She couldn\'t accept her sister because that would mean the obsolescence of her own personality. Maybe she had to go through a lot more, whether in terms of will, experience, or strength, to become mature enough to ensure she wouldn\'t be influenced by her sister.

Hexia looked up, the rain exposing part of her face as droplets fell on her forehead and cheeks, slowly sliding down.

Although the sky remained grey and overcast, a bright light behind the clouds was now visible.

Droplets gathered on her face and wrists, then formed into transparent round crystal beads and rolled down.

Healing Crystal [Mythical Level]: All things gather in your hands, crystallizing, purifying; chaotic, ripped fissures heal as if never there. (Aggregation, freezing, crystallization, purity, healing – related field abilities receive the utmost enhancement.)

Voice of Time Strings [Mythical Level]: Feel the rhythm of all things, pluck the strings of time. (Unknown – currently, using the fragments and traces in time can restore scenes from the past and even briefly reverse time partially.)

The two Talents, among them the Healing Crystal should be her original origin Talent, and her sister\'s Talent was complementary; if she was the Healing Crystal, then Temisia would be the Annihilating Quicksand. The second Talent was related to the Songstress, much of which remained unknown; she had only incidentally used a part of it that day.

Descriptions of the two Talents came after she searched federated documentation and Talent ranking standards and after special rites of self-inquiry.

The Aijieka Sea was, in a way, an imperfect wish machine; it allowed the sea of matter to respond to the wishes of life, though this response was limited and imperfect.

After another universe collided and overlapped with the present one, special particles from another dimension seeped into this world. They acted as a kind of medium, allowing the spiritual will of present life to interfere with the material world, leading to a variety of magics and Transcendent abilities. This was also why humans rose and fell so rapidly originally.

Today\'s human civilization has undergone three great devastations and extinctions. The first occurred in the remote 21st century, the second after the Twilight Era, and the third during the Fifth Epoch.

The matter seemed to have come to a conclusion. After that day, she had to take three days off to recover and heal, then looked for past records she had left behind.

With those matters handled, it was time for her to head back.

She found a public cosmic network terminal and used its service to call a Hover Car for herself.

A few minutes later, a black Hover Car arrived through the curtain of rain.

Entering the car, Hexia leaned back in the seat and quickly fell asleep. These few days, she had been very tired, as if no amount of sleep broke through the fatigue — probably a side effect of using her Talents.

Two hours later, Hexia arrived at her home, only to find two people standing at her doorstep, seemingly waiting for her.

She shook the water off her umbrella, held it in her palm, then walked toward them.

"Who are you?" She wasn\'t as frightened as before.

"Hello Miss Hexia! We… we are Qiao Long\'s underlings," one of the chubby men introduced himself, visibly nervous.

"Hm?" Hexia tilted her head, recognizing who Qiao Long was — the man who had attacked her that day.
