Chapter 84 Going Deeper in the Demon Nest
[You have leveled up to level 76... 77... 78.]
Getting levels in this area was much easier as the demons here were level 210 minimum.
[Extraction Talent Activated!]
[+Demonic Claw Shards (Legendary), +7 Lesser Demon Core (Epic), +Tainted Black Crystal (Legendary), +16 Strength, +8 Vitality]
Along with all those useful items, some of Alex's skills leveled up, though he didn't even pay attention to them since [Potential Extraction] evolution perk was there.
Pocketing the items, Alex signaled his remaining undead to press on.
[Materials: Fang of the Python (Epic), x4 Ghoul Wings (Uncommon), x13 Venomous Lizard Scales (Rare), Howler's Soul Shard (Legendary), Fangbeast Fur x3 (Uncommon), Poison Wolf Fur x2 (Uncommon), Basilisk Claws (Epic), Source of Poison Core (Mythical), Dungeon Golem Core (Legendary), Demonic Claw Shards (Legendary), x7 Lesser Demon Core (Epic), Tainted Black Crystal (Legendary)]
These were the items he could use on his future weapons or to help enhance items.
He would need to test out several [Synthesis] combinations to see if he could merge them together to make better materials.
Actually, Alex decided to try it out.
"The human's here!"
"Kill him!"
"You will regret angering the demon tribe!"
Several demons, both from the previous type and also some higher experienced one came, but Alex wasn't bothered.
He didn't even look at them, instead focusing on his synthesis, trying out the different possibilities.
"ARGH-"
"UNDEAD, MOVE OUT!"
But the demons would get overwhelmed, and every time an extraction prompt appeared in front of Alex, he would keep selecting the attributes.
Thanks to his [Eternal Wraith Relic], and Undead Lord talent, he could summon his skeletons over and over, guarding him even at the cost of their lives.
After around fifteen minutes, he finally tried out all the possibilities, feeling happy.
Ding!
[Extraction Talent Activated!]
[+76 Strength, +46 Vitality, +53 Agility, +23 Spirit, +6 Skill Points]
He also leveled up twice more, but the experience was reducing.
[The more the system detects you to be fit to fight stronger enemies, then the less experience you get from "lesser ones" to prevent farming.]
"Fair," Alex sighed, but he was more excited about his synthesis options.
And he had many.

[Fang of the Python + x13 Venomous Lizard Scales + Poison Wolf Fur + Basilisk Claws = ??? (Mythical)]
Putting all of his [Poison] type materials would actually result in a mythical item to come out!
[Dungeon Golem Core + Demonic Claw Shards + x7 Lesser Demon Core + Tainted Black Crystal = ??? (Mythical)]
And the same could be done for all the materials that he acquired from this dungeon.
It seems that synthesis worked better when all the items were from the same category or the same type.
In the end, he decided to synthesis the two to see if it would give him anything good.
Ding! Ding!
All the materials he had selected began to merge in a blinding light, and two items floated in front of Alex.
[You have gained "High-Level Poison Crystal" (Mythical)]
[Anyone who touches this thing will instantly receive the "High-Level Poison" effect.]
[You have gained "Dark Dungeon Crimson Core" (Mythical)]
[A high-grade core mainly used to sharpen blades to their maximum.]
"Hm."
[Python Backpack + Superior Backpack = ???]
Ding!
[You have gained "Superior Python Backpack" (Mythical)!]
[Can hold up to 500 items, all the way up to Mythical-Tier]
"Nice."
He had actually been forced to put the [Souce of Poison Core] (Mythical) in his pocket, but thanks to this, he was finally able to put everything he needed inside of his backpack without worry.
These two items should have the same properties as all the previous ones combined, as well as an upgrade in overall utility.
And finally, the last thing Alex did was grab his [Whispers of Shadows] and [Dark Dungeon Crimson Core].
If that core sharpened weapons, then maybe it could be done with his dagger too.
He would need it for later, after all.
[Whispers of Shadows + Dark Dungeon Crimson Core = ??? (Divine+)]
His [Whispers of Shadows] is already Divine-Level, and even with the core, it seems that synthesizing an Artifact-Level item is harder than Alex thought.
So instead, it got the [Divine+] rating, meaning that it is a Divine item, but still better than your average one.
He didn't hesitate a single second to do that.
Ding!
[You have acquired "Demonized Whispers of Shadows" (Divine+)]
[Demonized Whispers of Shadows (Divine+): +15000 Strength, +10000 Agility]
Alex's jaw literally dropped to the ground.
He had expected it to sharpen his weapon, but not THIS much!
The skills on the dagger remained unchanged, but the sheer strength was astounding.
Now, he could definitely deal with those demons.
"Well, let's go," he was finally done, and so he gestured for his undead to move.
Clearing the next three floors had been incredibly easy.
Not only did his [Skeletons] gains immense strength as well, each one of them basically rivaling a level 100-150 monster, but a single slash from Alex's dagger caused around 26,000 HP now.
And oh boy, let's not talk about [Shadow Strike].
Alex kept going just like that, dominating every floor and demon no matter how strong they were.
[Chain Demon]
[Level: 220]
[HP: 360,000]
[Skills: Chain Smash, Horn Hulk, Punch...]
...
[Winged Demon]
[Level: 230]
[HP: 375,000]
[Skills: Demon Howl, Fly, Wing Slash...]
...
[Armored Demon]
[Level: 240]
[HP: 410,000]
[Skills: Protection, Smash, Crimson Energy...]
...
No matter what they would send at him, even if it was dozens if not hundreds of the demons, Alex wasn't bothered.
He would keep going, killing everything in his way, each demon granting him a bit more power to defeat the next faster.
[+7 levels]
[+372 Strength, +432 Vitality, +126 Spirit, +326 Agility, +12 Skill Points]
He picked "Skill Points" because he would need them later, by the way.
[Next Upgrade: 1372/10000 Extraction Points.]
And finally, after around two hours, Alex reached the end of the 24th floor and found himself face-to-face with the towering boss guarding the entrance to the 25th level.
The boss smirked, staring down at Alex with an amused look.
"So, you're the one who's been causing trouble on my floors?" he taunted, his voice a deep, ominous rumble. "You're just a little pest, aren't you? I'll make sure you regret ever stepping foot here."
[Demon Chain Lord]
[Level: 240]
[HP: 1,600,000]
[Skills:]
[Infernal Chains:] Restrains and burns the target.
[Hellfire Smash:] Powerful ground attack with intense flames.
[Demonic Shield:] Summons a shield that absorbs damage.
[Wrathful Surge:] Increases strength and attack speed for a limited time.
...
Alex's eyes narrowed.
He wasn't intimidated.
With a quick wave of his hand, he summoned the rest of his undead army, signaling them to spread out and surround the boss.
"Let's see if you can keep up with this," he muttered, gripping his newly upgraded dagger, Demonized Whispers of Shadows.
"I'll bring your head to our boss." The boss scoffed, activating Wrathful Surge.
His muscles swelled, a dark aura wrapping around him as he charged, swinging his massive, flaming chains down at Alex.
Alex sidestepped with ease, his agility so high it looked as though he teleported.
His dagger gleamed as he closed the distance, delivering a devastating Shadow Strike that tore through the boss's shield.
-54,375!
The boss staggered, his expression shifting from confidence to confusion. "What…?"
"Didn't expect that?" Alex quipped, moving with lightning speed.
Each strike from the Demonized Whispers of Shadows or his spells chipped away thousands of HP, leaving the boss barely able to react.
Meanwhile, his undead minions took advantage of the distraction, slashing and biting from every angle.
The boss roared, releasing Infernal Chains.
Flaming shackles shot out, catching Alex off guard and restraining him in searing heat.
But he quickly got out using his sheer strength.
"HOW?"
"I'm a strong guy, y'know," Alex smiled.
In a rage, the boss raised his fist for a Hellfire Smash, aiming for the group of undead.
Flames exploded across the ground, wiping out several dozens of minions instantly.
Yet, before the boss could recover, Alex lunged forward, his dagger gleaming with a another [Shadow Strike] enhanced by his high stats.
The attack struck directly at the boss's core, bypassing his defenses and causing him to stumble backward again.
Desperate, the boss tried Soul Drain, hoping to absorb health from any nearby undead.
But Alex's minions were too fast, scattering before the skill could take full effect.
The boss's breathing grew ragged, his health now under a quarter.
"This... isn't possible!" the boss gasped, barely able to lift his weapon.
But Alex wasn't about to give him a chance to recover.
With a final sprint, he slashed with everything he had, the dagger slicing through the boss's demonic flesh with brutal precision.
And at the same time, he didn't forget to cast every single possible spell in his mind.
He pretty much had an infinite supply of mana, so might as well make use of it.
The boss crumpled to the floor in disbelief, his mocking expression replaced by utter shock.
Ding!
[You have slain "Demon Chain Lord," gained 74,842 experience points!]
Ding!
[You have received the key to "Dark Dungeon Final Floor"]
And of course.
[Extraction prompt activated!]
A notification popped up, and Alex grinned, eager to see what kind of legendary item he'd extracted from this once-feared boss.
