The Young Urban Doctor

Chapter 165 - 165 Cried

Wuyue walked back to the car parked about two hundred meters from the school gate and saw Ling Ruonan wiping her eyes in the back seat.

No one was in this specially licensed Audi A8 except for Ling Ruonan.

The driver had also gotten out of the car and was talking with the bodyguard.

Wuyue opened the car door, sat inside, and said softly to Ling Ruonan, hanging her head, “Miss, he’s gone!”

“Did he take the gift?” Ling Ruonan, with red eyes and biting her lips, asked softly.

“Um,” Wuyue nodded and whispered, “He guessed right away that it was you who sent me to see him.”

“Is he mad at me?” Ling Ruonan, tossing aside the powerful binoculars she held, anxiously asked Wuyue, “What did he say? Did he ask about me?”

Just now, she had been sitting in the car, using the powerful binoculars to watch the meeting between Luo Ziling and Wuyue, but the view wasn’t very clear.

After being separated for twenty years, the young man, even standing right in front of her, seemed never enough for her to see.

“He didn’t say anything!” Wuyue answered softly, “The young master cried; he… cried very sadly.”

Just now she had seen Luo Ziling wipe tears in front of her and now, seeing Ling Ruonan with red eyes holding back tears without crying, Wuyue also felt very sentimental, with an urge to cry.

She didn’t know how to comfort Ling Ruonan, as she had never experienced such a thing before, she felt very unsettled.

“Let’s go, let’s go back,” Ling Ruonan said, wiping her eyes dry and softly instructing Wuyue.

Wuyue nodded, immediately instructed the driver and the bodyguards to leave the area.

Soon after, Ling Ruonan’s Audi A8 and two escort vehicles left from the east gate of Yan University.

Ling Ruonan didn’t return to her own place but went to a nearby hotel instead.

She had barely slept last night, her mind filled with matters concerning Luo Ziling. Today, she finally saw her son, who she had been apart from for twenty years; although it was only from afar, and through binoculars, she still felt quite content.

Although her impulsive decision to see Luo Ziling risked being discovered, she had no regrets and wasn’t afraid of her family’s blame.

After all, she hadn’t been face-to-face with Luo Ziling, only sending a few items over through Wuyue, which didn’t break any rules.

She was very tired, so she had Wuyue find a hotel to rest for a while.

When their car arrived at a nearby five-star hotel, Wuyue carrying Ling Ruonan’s personal luggage, entered a luxurious suite they had booked.

Just as Wuyue used the room card to open the door, her phone’s message alert sounded.

It was a WeChat message from Luo Ziling.

“Are you busy? I want to chat with you for a bit, is that okay?”

Wuyue hurriedly handed the phone to Ling Ruonan.

Ling Ruonan, who had been looking somewhat downcast, perked up immediately after seeing the message.

“I’m not busy right now, what’s wrong? Is something bothering you?” She quickly typed these words with her slender fingers and hit the send button without hesitation.

“I’ve indeed been feeling down these past couple of days,” Luo Ziling’s message came swiftly.

“Can you tell me about it?” After sending the message, Ling Ruonan’s heartbeat sped up, and her eyes stayed glued to the phone screen.

“I got into a fight at the KTV yesterday!”

“Why did you fight? Did you get hurt?”

“After dinner, a few classmates and I went to sing. Some guy tried to harass one of our female classmates, so I stepped in. Those people were just looking for trouble. Later, a gang came to beat us up. Even the security guards were on their side, but thankfully nothing serious happened.”

“What happened after that?” Even though she knew the outcome, Ling Ruonan still asked.

“I’ve been trained in martial arts, and they were no match for me. I knocked them down, but we were all taken to the police station!”

“The cops there were in cahoots with them. A few tried to teach me a lesson inside and even pulled a gun on me. Luckily, some friends came over and rescued me. Otherwise, it really could’ve been the end for me there.” Luo Ziling followed up with two consecutive messages, each trailed by a string of crying emoticons.

“That’s too much!” Ling Ruonan immediately replied with a message, “Don’t worry, they will definitely be punished!”

It was an action she would take without hesitation. She would not let go of anyone who harmed Luo Ziling last night.

Even if they didn’t die, she would make their lives a living hell — that was Ling Ruonan’s current thought.

When a woman becomes ruthless, she’s far more terrifying than a man.

“I was actually hoping a woman would come to save me, but in the end, she never appeared!” Luo Ziling’s messages came quickly once again, followed by several frantic emoticons.

Seeing this message, Ling Ruonan’s heart clenched, and the guilt and self-reproach that had just settled surged back, causing her hands to tremble as she typed.

“Who were you waiting for to rescue you?” In her hesitation, she sent the message.

“My mom!”

After replying with two words, Luo Ziling immediately followed up with another message: “I thought she was always paying attention to me, and maybe she could see my Moments, so I posted a message there. But unexpectedly, she was on a plane when it all happened.”

“She didn’t know and that’s why she couldn’t rush to your rescue. I think if your mom knew, she would’ve come to save you immediately. She would never let you get hurt,” Ling Ruonan replied as she cried again.

“Sigh, I was so disappointed last night when I didn’t get a message from her. I thought she didn’t want me anymore.” Luo Ziling sent another message right away, “But unexpectedly, she sent someone to see me today. She explained the situation to me in person and told me she would personally intervene in the matter, making the police investigate thoroughly and not let the culprits get away.”

Ling Ruonan didn’t know how to respond and just kept crying.

As she struggled, Luo Ziling’s message arrived again: “She also bought me clothes and gifts, several bags of them!”

“I think they must be gifts you like!” Ling Ruonan finally mustered the courage to reply.

In fact, she was very worried that Luo Ziling wouldn’t like the gifts she had personally picked out.

“Actually, no matter what she buys me, I’ll like it. Because this is the first time she has ever bought me a gift. I used to think she didn’t care about me, but now I finally realize she still cares a lot. It’s just that she didn’t get my message in time last night. Sigh, I felt so suffocated today, I even cried in front of others, you know. It’s so embarrassing to cry in front of a pretty girl. Haha, talking so much with you has really lightened my heart, thank you for being willing to listen to me go on and on.”

After reading Luo Ziling’s long message, Ling Ruonan couldn’t hold back anymore and covered her face as she burst into sobs.
