The Young Urban Doctor

Chapter 219 - 219 Meet by Lake Wuming

Fifteen minutes later, Luo Ziling was waiting for Yang Qingyin at a corner on the way to Lake Wuming.

Under the dim light, he couldn’t help feeling a surge of excitement when Yang Qingyin appeared before him, wearing a baseball cap and high-waisted jeans with a thin sweater.

“Senior, your outfit today has a unique charm,” Luo Ziling greeted her with a smile. “It’s the first time I’ve seen you dressed like this.”

The previous times he had seen Yang Qingyin, she had been dressed in a rather demure style, which made her look very gentle.

Today’s attire made her look quite spirited and unique.

“How many times have you seen me?” Yang Qingyin walked up to Luo Ziling and rolled her eyes at him. “I have all kinds of clothes.”

“Anyway, you look good in whatever you wear,” Luo Ziling said, reaching for Yang Qingyin’s hand quite naturally.

Yang Qingyin hesitated for a moment but didn’t reject him, allowing Luo Ziling to hold her hand.

“Someone once called me an ‘ugly freak’,” she hummed. “Such insincere flattery.”

“When did I ever say that? It’s you who said it; I merely mentioned that ‘ugly freaks’ are delicious to eat,” Luo Ziling said as he glanced at Yang Qingyin.

Yang Qingyin immediately thought of the incident in Dashilan, where Luo Ziling had pecked her on the lips. After she had bitten him a couple of times, she also brushed her lips against his while he was carrying her on his back.

Although their actions were quick, and the contact lasted only a fraction of a second, the sensation of brushing against each other’s lips was clearly etched in her mind.

When Luo Ziling mentioned that ‘ugly freaks’ were delicious and looked at her, the memory made her face flush with the sensation.

Fortunately, the dim lighting and the hat she was wearing concealed the change in her complexion from Luo Ziling’s view.

“It’s been a while since I’ve been to Lake Wuming,” Yang Qingyin turned the conversation away, worried Luo Ziling would notice her expression, “but at this time, it’s quite crowded there.”

“People like the scenery there,” Luo Ziling replied with a smile. “The weather is just perfect now. In a month or so, it’ll start to get a bit chilly in the evening.”

Seeing that Yang Qingyin had already worn a sweater, Luo Ziling couldn’t resist teasing, “Senior, you are more susceptible to cold than I am.”

“Of course, I’m a girl,” Yang Qingyin didn’t deny it. “I’ve always been afraid of the cold. In winter, if I don’t use a hot water bottle, my feet stay icy all night.”

“I seem to have promised to cure these minor ailments of yours,” Luo Ziling said, looking at Yang Qingyin. “It’s been quite a few days since I’ve treated you with a massage.”

“You said it,” Yang Qingyin rolled her eyes at him. “You promised to cure my minor ailments, but you’ve yet to take action.”

Yang Qingyin’s coquettish demeanor was indescribably cute. Even though her face was in shadow, Luo Ziling could still feel it and was swept up in tenderness.

“Don’t worry, I’ll fulfill what I’ve promised. By next spring, you’ll see a transformation like you’ve been reborn, and after next summer, you’ll find even more surprises.”

“Will it take that long?” Yang Qingyin tilted her head as she looked at Luo Ziling. “Didn’t you say your medical skills are incredible, that you’re a ‘Divine Doctor’?”

“When did I say I was a ‘Divine Doctor’?” Luo Ziling looked at Yang Qingyin surprisedly. “I just said my medical skills aren’t bad. Hehe, for a freshman who has just entered medical school, having decent medical skills is already quite an achievement.”

Hearing Luo Ziling put it that way, Yang Qingyin felt puzzled. “If your medical skills are already good, why bother attending medical school? Do you think traditional medicine is inadequate, or does your grandfather think so?”

“Integrating Eastern and Western medicine is the way to achieve great success in medicine; these are my grandfather’s words,” Luo Ziling said with a mysterious smile. “Also, my grandfather wanted me to get out and see the world. I’ve been in a small mountain village for twenty years.”

Yang Qingyin fell silent for a moment before whispering, “It must have been someone else who wanted you to come out, right?”

Caught off guard by Yang Qingyin’s question, Luo Ziling didn’t know how to respond.

He couldn’t say it was Ling Ruonan who wanted him to come out.

He could tell anyone else, but not Yang Qingyin, not now at least.

That was because Yang Qingyin belonged to the Yang Family, her elders had taken part in the feud between the Ling and Yang families. The Yang Family did not want his family to reunite and forced them to stay apart.

If she inadvertently informed her family elders about his return to Yanjing, then things would get complicated.

Luo Ziling knew his arrival in Yanjing would definitely be discovered, and the Yang Family would soon find out, but he still hoped it wouldn’t be through Yang Qingyin.

Therefore, he was reluctant to share too much about his background with Yang Qingyin, at least not for now.

“Maybe, I’m not sure. Before coming to Yanjing, I knew nothing, and it’s still the same after arriving.” Luo Ziling turned his head to look at Yang Qingyin, “I really don’t know about the past. My grandfather never mentioned the past to me. I don’t know anything about my parents.”

“I’m much luckier than you,” Yang Qingyin said earnestly, looking at Luo Ziling for a while before finally showing a smile, “Alright, let’s not talk about this anymore. Which way do we go?”

As they moved forward, she gripped Luo Ziling’s hand a little harder.

Luo Ziling also tightened his hold on Yang Qingyin’s hand and slowly walked forward.

They soon reached the banks of Lake Wuming.

It was already half-past eight in the evening, but most people were not yet asleep, and the banks of Lake Wuming were still bustling.

Most were couples, holding hands or embracing each other, and some were even engaged in intimate acts.

Seeing this scene, Luo Ziling couldn’t help but tighten his grip on Yang Qingyin’s hand, and she also applied a bit more strength.

“The first time we met was right here,” Luo Ziling smiled as they reached the bush where he first encountered Yang Qingyin, “That day, on a whim, I jumped over this bush and accidentally knocked you down.”

“You really startled me that day,” Yang Qingyin said with a smile, looking at Luo Ziling, “I didn’t expect someone to suddenly jump out.”

“I didn’t do it on purpose. It was just a sudden urge. I had no idea there was a super beautiful girl on the other side,” Luo Ziling grinned, “That jump was really miraculous.”

“It’s so high, how did you jump over it?” Yang Qingyin asked curiously, looking at Luo Ziling, “It’s over two meters.”

“Do you want to see how I did it?”

“Mhm,” Yang Qingyin nodded.

Luo Ziling let go of Yang Qingyin’s hand, flipped impressively over the hedge, and then flipped back again.

When he jumped back, he scooped up a surprised Yang Qingyin in his arms and immediately started running.

“Hehe, who would have thought I’d find a beautiful girl behind the hedge today? Better hurry and take her home to be The Lady in Charge of Suppressing Bandits.”

Caught off guard by Luo Ziling’s unrestrained remark, Yang Qingyin blushed instantly.
