The Young Urban Doctor

Chapter 246: The Situation is More Serious Than Expected

“What happened?” Luo Ziling was surprised, as Yang Qingyin had walked away to take the call, and he hadn’t heard what she said on the phone.

“There’s something really important at home that I need to go back for,” Yang Qingyin’s frustration was truly indescribable.

She had thought that this trip with Luo Ziling would be a very romantic journey, but she had not expected so many infuriating things to happen.

Luo Ziling stared at Yang Qingyin for a while before asking gently, “Does your family know we came out to play together?”

Yang Qingyin lowered her head in silence for a moment, then finally nodded, “They probably do.”

This made Luo Ziling feel down as well.

“Alright, then let’s head back now,” Luo Ziling forced a somewhat strained smile, “Anyway, it’s raining, so it’s not convenient to go out. We’ve seen the scenery of the grassland, eaten roasted lamb, and I’ve taken you horse riding; we’ve had so many activities there should be no regrets. Next time, if we have the chance, let’s come here again, after all, we have plenty of time.”

Yang Qingyin gave Luo Ziling an apologetic smile, her expression a mix of embarrassment and bitterness.

Dejected, they returned to the hotel, packed their luggage, checked out, and left Datan Town.

They had many plans and wanted to cover the entire Bashang Grassland. Seven full days should have been enough to see everything, but unfortunately, they had to leave early and without having had enough fun, filled with regrets.

As the car was heading back, Yang Qingyin looked forlornly out the window, her eyes slightly unfocused.

Seeing Yang Qingyin looking so dejected, Luo Ziling felt a pang of sympathy and reached out to hold her hand that was resting in front of her, enclosing it in his palm.

“What’s the matter? Afraid of being scolded by your parents?” Luo Ziling smiled and said, “Do you want me to go with you? They can scold me instead.”

Yang Qingyin forced a smile, “I’m just exhausted from the past few days. You should go back and rest well. I’ll contact you after I get home. We can go out somewhere nearby, haven’t you said that you’ve never really explored around Yanjing? I’ll be your tour guide, free of charge.”

“I don’t mind paying,” Luo Ziling said with a bright smile, “If the senior is willing to offer three companionship services, I’m willing to pay a high fee.”

“What?! “Yang Qingyin was taken aback by Luo Ziling’s words, her face instantly blushing, “Three companionship services, you’re too bad.”

“Accompany for eating, playing, and more playing; isn’t that the three companionships?” Luo Ziling grinned shamelessly, “If you want a few more ‘companions’, that’s totally fine too.”

“Do you know how annoying you are?” Without regard for Xiaoli, who was driving in front, Yang Qingyin reached over to hit Luo Ziling lightly.

Yang Qingyin’s gloominess was somewhat dispelled by Luo Ziling’s playful teasing.

Seeing her in a better mood, Luo Ziling continued to tease her with playful talk.

Yang Qingyin stopped dwelling on those depressing thoughts and continued to joke around with Luo Ziling all the way, even taking out her phone to look at photos.

“Once we get back, let’s find a time to sort out the photos and make an album, shall we?” Luo Ziling suggested, “I want to keep all of your most beautiful moments. For this, you don’t have to pay; I’m willing to volunteer.”

Seeing Luo Ziling’s cheerful demeanor, Yang Qingyin felt inexplicably moved.

She had never expected to have so much joy with someone else.

In front of Luo Ziling, she never showed any condescending coldness; the first time they met, she greeted him with a few radiant smiles.

After more contact with him, no longer did she show arrogance or reserve in his presence. Luo Ziling was quite witty and humorous, and she often couldn’t help but laugh at his jokes. Being with Luo Ziling, whatever they did felt good.

She liked being with him, no matter what they did, even if it was just talking, she was very happy.

She believed Luo Ziling felt the same way.

Unfortunately, there was too much interference from the outside.

Yesterday, Ling Ruonan came to her, hoping she would stay away from Luo Ziling to prevent both of them from getting hurt.

Today, her father called her about this issue.

Yang Qingyin, of course, knew that if her father Yang Yunlin, personally called her to come back from her trip right away and talk at home, he definitely knew of Luo Ziling’s existence, and his identity as well.

Otherwise, things wouldn’t have developed like this.

After a spell of laughter, Yang Qingyin fell into contemplation, her expression becoming somewhat dejected. Luo Ziling couldn’t help but feel depressed as well.

However, he didn’t bring up these matters. On their way, he only talked about fun stories, trying to cheer her up.

Since it was raining, they didn’t drive fast. The National Day holiday traffic was quite congested, and it took them an hour longer than expected.

But Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin didn’t mind. They chatted and laughed all the way, deliberately forgetting about the troubles that were soon to come, and ignoring the congestion on the road.

After entering the city, Yang Qingyin instructed Ye Xiaoli to drop Luo Ziling off at his school first. Even though Luo Ziling said it was fine to just drop him off near any subway station or bus stop, Yang Qingyin still wanted Xiaoli to take him right to the school entrance.

When the car arrived at the entrance of the school, it was already seven o’clock in the evening.

None of them had had dinner, just some snacks they brought with them, but they didn’t feel hungry.

The car stopped, and Yang Qingyin jumped out with Luo Ziling.

After helping Luo Ziling with his luggage, Yang Qingyin took the initiative to hold his hand, whispering, “Junior, I’m leaving. Don’t worry about me, nothing’s going to happen. I’ll text you later, remember to reply immediately, okay?”

With that, she tiptoed and pecked Luo Ziling on the face.

Luo Ziling, of course, wouldn’t just let her take advantage of him. He held her and returned the kiss on her lips.

Yang Qingyin didn’t avoid it, blushing as she accepted his “peck” and waved him goodbye before getting back into the car.

After bidding farewell to Luo Ziling and sitting back in the car, Yang Qingyin’s cheerful smile while with him was gone, replaced by her usual indifference and pride. During the half-hour journey from the school to her home, she didn’t utter a word.

Once the car pulled into the villa at her house, she opened the door herself, carrying the little luggage she took with her.

As she got out of the car, she whispered to Xiaoli, “No matter who asks you anything, you mustn’t say a word.”

“Understood, Miss!” Xiaoli agreed without hesitation, determination written all over her face.

As Yang Qingyin pushed the door and walked into the house, she saw her grandfather Yang Yuanshan and father Yang Yunfeng sitting in the living room.

Seeing her grandfather there too, Yang Qingyin instantly felt she had underestimated the seriousness of the situation.
