The Young Urban Doctor

Chapter 258: Meeting with Ling Ruonan

“Sis, how can you not trust me?” Yang Qingye suddenly became a bit anxious, “Look, about the last time I bumped into you guys hanging out together, I didn’t tell mom and dad. They only knew because they asked me. I haven’t told them anything about you, you should trust my character, right?”

Yang Qingyin remained silent, slowly savoring her coffee.

Yang Qingye sighed and said nothing more, picking up an apple in front of him and taking a big bite.

After biting half the apple, he continued, “Sis, if there’s anything you need help with, like delivering a love letter, or covering for a date, you can count on me. I’ll do my best to help you guys.”

Yang Qingyin let out a sigh and stood up, “Let’s go, back home.”

“Alright,” Yang Qingye tactfully didn’t say anything more; after quickly finishing the rest of the apple, he followed Yang Qingyin out of the private room.

Yang Qingye had driven here himself, and when Yang Qingyin said she wanted to take his car back, he naturally agreed to go get the car.

Taking advantage of the moment Yang Qingye and the other two bodyguards were away, Yang Qingyin whispered to Xiaoli, “Where is he?”

“I saw him coming out of the next room and entering the restroom. After that, he vanished,” Xiaoli replied in a low voice, “Miss, don’t worry, Mr. Luo is very skilled; he must have left here safely.”

Only then did Yang Qingyin breathe a sigh of relief.

After returning home in the Porsche Cayenne driven by Yang Qingye, Yang Qingyin saw her father, Yang Yunlin, and her mother, Chen Qiaoyu, sitting on the sofa discussing something. Upon seeing the siblings arrive, they immediately fell silent.

“You’re back,” Chen Qiaoyu stood up with a slightly awkward disposition, “Have you had lunch?”

“I’m tired, going to sleep for a bit,” Yang Qingyin didn’t stop her footsteps as she entered her room and locked the door from the inside.

Chen Qiaoyu, who had meant to follow her, had no choice but to sit back down on the sofa with resignation.

“I’m starving, haven’t had lunch yet,” Yang Qingye exaggerated a bit as he complained, “Is there any lunch left?”

“There are some leftovers. Go heat them up yourself,” Chen Qiaoyu replied, clearly annoyed.

“Fine, I get it, Sis is the real deal and I’m the adopted one,” Yang Qingye grumbled before going to the kitchen to find something to eat.

After he had wolfed down some food and come out, he saw Yang Yunlin and Chen Qiaoyu still sitting on the sofa.

“Who was Qingyin with?” Chen Qiaoyu asked Yang Qingye.

Yang Qingye plopped down on the couch and said irritably, “Sis was just quietly drinking coffee by herself.”

After reporting the situation, Yang Qingye angrily added, “I’m saying, mom and dad, what’s the meaning of this? You guys had me keep a watch? If I had known it was going to be like this, I wouldn’t have bothered facing Sis’s cold shoulder. You’re driving a wedge between our sibling bond, is this how you’re supposed to be parents?”

“What nonsense are you talking about?” Chen Qiaoyu glanced at her silent husband before saying to Yang Qingye, “How could your parents treat you guys like that?”

“Who knows,” Yang Qingye hummed dissatisfiedly.

There was a loud ‘smack’ as Yang Yunlin’s palm hit the coffee table hard, startling both Yang Qingye and Chen Qiaoyu.

“Yang Qingye, if you dare to speak to us with that tone again, see if I won’t beat you to death,” Yang Yunlin roared angrily at Yang Qingye, “You’ve become more and more unruly. Is this how you’re supposed to be children?”

Seeing his father’s anger, Yang Qingye didn’t dare say another word, his head drooping obediently.

“Okay, don’t be angry anymore. Our son just got back, don’t lose your temper like that,” Chen Qiaoyu sat next to Yang Yunlin and whispered a word of comfort.

Yang Yunlin just snorted from his nose and didn’t respond to Chen Qiaoyu’s words.

Chen Qiaoyu gave Yang Qingye a look, and understanding the signal, he immediately ran back to his room.

The soundproofing in Yang Family’s rooms was very effective, and Yang Qingyin, hiding inside, was unaware of any commotion outside.

After ducking into her room, she immediately took out her phone and sent Luo Ziling a message, “Junior, I’m home. Where are you?”

“I just got to school,” Luo Ziling’s message came back quickly.

Then another message followed, “Everything’s okay, right?”

“Yes. Qingye seems still willing to help us.”

“That’s good. Meet up with him next time.”

“I’m a bit sleepy, thinking of taking a short nap. I’ll definitely return to stay at the campus tomorrow and will look for you to talk then.”

After sending this message, Yang Qingyin thought for a bit and then sent another, “You’re going to your mom’s place for dinner, get yourself ready properly. Give my regards to Mrs. Ling, and next time I’ll invite her for tea.”

“Thank you!” Luo Ziling replied with a message quickly.

Then another message, “You take a rest first. If it’s convenient, message me.”

After sending this last message, Luo Ziling had already reached the dormitory door.

He sent Ouyang Feifei a message, telling her he had something very important to do tonight and couldn’t go to Ouyang Lingyun’s place.

“Got it.” Ouyang Feifei replied with only three words, without any further explanation.

Even though Luo Ziling felt a bit embarrassed, he didn’t elaborate further.

After returning to the dormitory, he started feeling a bit drowsy and lay down to sleep for a while.

He didn’t know how long he had slept when the phone’s ringtone woke him up.

Glancing at the caller ID, he was surprised to see that it was Wuyue, and quickly answered the call.

“Hello,” his greeting was still a little groggy.

“Ziling, I’m on my way to the school. I should be there in about half an hour; I’ll wait for you outside the east gate.”

Wuyue’s words instantly chased away all remnants of sleep from Luo Ziling, who immediately sat up. After taking a couple of deep breaths, he responded, “Okay, I’ll wait for you outside the east gate in half an hour.”

After hanging up the phone, Luo Ziling immediately got up to groom and dress himself.

The clothes Ling Ruonan had given were a must-wear, along with the valuable watch he also put on.

Once he was dressed, he seriously faced the mirror to neaten his hair and even found a pair of scissors to trim the two stray nose hairs peeking out. After looking at himself from every angle and finding no faults, he was satisfied.

Wuyue was very punctual; twenty-nine minutes after their phone call, her black Audi stopped in front of Luo Ziling. Before Wuyue could even call out to him, Luo Ziling opened the back seat door and got into the car.

Wuyue did not linger, pressing the gas pedal and driving away.

“Miss is preparing dinner at home,” Wuyue said softly during the ride.

“Oh!” Luo Ziling replied, not knowing what else to say.

“Today she bought a lot of groceries; all are things you like to eat. She hasn’t personally cooked in a long time.”

A simple statement from Wuyue nearly brought tears to Luo Ziling’s eyes.
