The Young Urban Doctor

Chapter 267: Understood

Ling Ruonan thought for a bit and didn’t make a sound, acknowledging what her father had said.

Indeed, she felt the likelihood was very small; it was just her concern for Luo Ziling’s safety that triggered such worries.

“You really don’t need to worry,” Ling Mingrui said again. “Yang Yuanshan certainly won’t make a move himself at the moment, and it’s not necessarily the case that Yang Yunlin will act personally. They will surely let others test your son’s capabilities first. This is the best opportunity to temper your son; you should let him face it on his own. If the Yang Family goes too far and he can’t handle it, then you can step in.”

“Thank you, Dad, I understand now.” If it had been someone else’s affair, Ling Ruonan would have certainly considered all these aspects much earlier.

But since the main character of the incident was her own son, it was impossible for her to think about these things rationally.

After listening to her father’s reminders, she had an epiphany and finally understood.

Indeed, Luo Ziling should be provided with opportunities to grow, to gradually adapt to life in YC City.

Since coming to Yanjing, Luo Ziling’s performance, although not brilliant, was quite good; getting so close to Yang Qingyin overnight was not something an ordinary person could achieve.

“If Yang Yuanshan’s granddaughter wholeheartedly follows your son, that’ll be interesting,” Ling Jinhua chuckled and then slowly closed his eyes, looking somewhat tired.

Seeing this, Ling Ruonan immediately stood up and said quietly to Ling Jinhua, “Grandfather, I only came today to inform you of this matter to spare you from worrying. It’s getting late; you should rest early. I’ll visit you again tomorrow or the day after.”

After a moment of thought, she added softly, “If possible, I would like to bring Ziling over to examine you. His grandfather mentioned his medical skills have truly been passed on.”

“There’s no rush,” Ling Jinhua gently waved his hand but didn’t open his eyes.

Upon savoring the implications behind the words “no rush,” Ling Ruonan finally grasped the meaning and couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

It was “no rush,” not “no need.”

The old man’s words always held such profound significance.

Ling Ruonan didn’t linger and left Ling Jinhua’s room with her father, Ling Mingrui.

“Dad, I’ll head back first; you should rest early too.” When they reached the courtyard, Ling Ruonan quietly said, “I’m already happy that you don’t blame me.”

“It’s best to keep a low profile in your actions. Maybe things aren’t as bad as you think,” Ling Mingrui said, patting Ling Ruonan’s shoulder with a smile: “I hear that boy can hold his liquor very well. Sometime, I’ll have a proper drink with him.”

With that, not waiting for Ling Ruonan to reply, he got into his awe-inspiring Hongqi sedan.

Soon, the Hongqi sedan drove out of the courtyard.

An emotionally stirred Ling Ruonan didn’t stay long either. After getting into her Audi A8, she also left the courtyard.

While three generations of the Ling Family were exchanging views on the matter of Luo Ziling, several kilometers away from the Ling Family Old Mansion, Yang Yunlin, the prospective Family Head of the Yang Family, was discussing matters with his cousin Yang Shubao.

Angered, Yang Qingyin had moved back to school, and the frightened Yang Qingye had also used the excuse of reviewing for exams to flee back to school.

Yang Yunlin was quite annoyed by this but didn’t make too much of it.

During the day, he had a discussion with Yang Shubao about some matters, but after gathering more information, he called Yang Shubao to his house again for a face-to-face discussion.

Yang Shubao had always been working for Yang Yunlin, so he would come over to Yang Yunlin’s house from time to time.

However, it was rare for Yang Yunlin to formally request his presence to discuss matters, which let him know that the situation was not simple.

“You still need to be careful with some things,” after a few courteous words, Yang Yunlin whispered instructions to Yang Shubao, “The old man and I are not in a position to get involved for the time being. As for why, you don’t need to know. Just remember, in the next six months, even if you cause some big commotion, don’t involve the Yang Family, understand?”

“Understood,” actually, Yang Shubao didn’t quite understand, but he was afraid that Yang Yunlin would think he was stupid, so he could only claim he understood.

“That kid is deliberately getting close to Qingyin, trying to use his charm to bewitch her, play with her, then ruin her. I will never let this happen.” Originally, Yang Yunlin wanted to reveal Luo Ziling’s true identity to Yang Shubao and have him plan a revenge operation, but after careful consideration, he decided to change the approach.

He did not reveal Luo Ziling’s true identity to Yang Shubao for the time being, simply stating that Luo Ziling was someone who intended to get close to Yang Qingyin just to ruin her after having his fun.

Therefore, he was very angry. He could not let Luo Ziling destroy Yang Qingyin. He had to separate them and punish harshly the person who dared to scheme against his precious daughter.

Hearing Yang Yunlin say this, Yang Shubao immediately became angry, “There is actually such a despicable kid daring to deceive a member of our Yang Family, truly audacious. I will make sure he learns his lesson well and let him know that many people are not to be trifled with by a brash young man.”

“You can use any means to deal with him, you can cripple him or kill him, but remember one thing, never leave any trace, don’t let people know it was you who ordered it, and don’t associate it with the Yang Family in any way,” Yang Yunlin once again whispered a few words sternly.

“Understood,” Yang Shubao immediately agreed but couldn’t help asking in confusion, “Brother, this kid doesn’t have any background, right? Even if people find out, we are not afraid, who would dare to investigate?”

“Remember what I’ve told you to do.” Yang Yunlin did not explain, just glared at Yang Shubao more sternly.

“I understand,” Yang Shubao was startled and quickly nodded in agreement.

After Yang Shubao took his leave, Yang Yunlin called several members of the family’s security team.

He secretly instructed these members to go to Yan University’s campus and their daily task was to track the whereabouts of Yang Qingyin and Luo Ziling. At the same time, he ordered other members to closely monitor every move of Ling Ruonan.

Soon, his subordinates reported back with information related to Ling Ruonan.

Upon learning that Ling Ruonan had met Luo Ziling that evening and personally sent him back to school, Yang Yunlin’s expression darkened.

“Heh, I didn’t expect you to make the first move,” Yang Yunlin’s face looked a bit ugly, “Since you want to protect your own son, I’ll have to see if you can keep him safe, you lowlife.”
