The Young Urban Doctor

Chapter 282: 282: Your Ancestor Was a Master Flower Thief, Huh?

Amidst Yang Qingyin’s coquettish protests, Luo Ziling chuckled and ran off, disappearing into the darkness and out of Yang Qingyin’s sight.

Watching Luo Ziling vanish, Yang Qingyin’s face also lost its tenderness as she turned and slowly walked towards the dormitory.

Xiaoli, who was nearby guarding, naturally witnessed the scene of Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin’s tree-top rendezvous, which surprised and intrigued her. However, she didn’t approach, and even stopped the two other bodyguards tasked with ensuring Yang Qingyin’s “safety” from getting too close, the reason being that they should not disrupt the young miss while playing the flute. What Xiaoli hadn’t expected was for the pair to climb down in less than half an hour.

But she soon realized that Yang Qingyin and Luo Ziling must have been worried about being discovered, which is why they didn’t stay up very long.

“Let’s head back,” Yang Qingyin said softly as she passed Xiaoli, her voice without a ripple.

Xiaoli did not say much, trailing about three or four meters behind Yang Qingyin, faithfully following as a loyal attendant.

After seeing Yang Qingyin to the door of her dormitory, Xiaoli then turned and left.

The female dormitory building was one of the safest places on campus, and the managing auntie at the door was known to be a formidable presence. It was “nigh impossible” for male students to enter the female dormitory building.

Although Xiaoli often followed inside, she wouldn’t stay long and even rarely entered Yang Qingyin’s dorm room.

After Yang Qingyin returned to her dorm room, Xiaoli left for her own place on campus.

Because she was always following and protecting Yang Qingyin, she had her own accommodations on campus, as arranged by the Yang Family. Of course, Xiaoli, who had returned to her place, would never have guessed that Yang Qingyin and Luo Ziling would continue their date, and she was kept in the dark about it.

By the time Yang Qingyin returned to her dormitory, Luo Ziling had already dashed to the food street at the campus gate, starting to buy the late-night snacks that Yang Qingyin craved.

Luo Ziling came in a windbreaker and initially wanted to lend it to Yang Qingyin, knowing she was sensitive to the cold.

However, since Yang Qingyin was wearing quite a bit today, and they didn’t stay in the tree for long; the windbreaker wasn’t put to use.

But it came in handy while purchasing food.

The windbreaker’s pockets were abundantly spacious, allowing the packaged food to be directly stashed away.

At least, when entering the female dormitory later, his hands would be free.

After buying enough snacks for both of them, Luo Ziling ran back to the school.

From the food street near the school gate to the female dormitory building where Yang Qingyin stayed, there was about a kilometer’s distance, and Luo Ziling sprinted through at top speed.

With his great lung capacity, he wasn’t excessively breathless after the run, so when he reached the bottom of the dorm building, his heartbeat and breathing were still not much different from usual.

During previous occasions escorting Yang Qingyin back to her dorm, Luo Ziling had already scoped out the female dormitory building and knew there were many ways to enter her room. However, the method he chose today was still the most genteel, and the least challenging.

After sending a text to Yang Qingyin, he effortlessly leaped onto a window between corridors from a tree by the entrance to the building, then jumped into the staircase. In doing so, he completely avoided the vigilant eyes of the manager auntie, who was thoroughly committed to guarding the safety of the female students in the management room.

After dashing up the stairs and seeing that the hallway was empty, Luo Ziling sprinted to the door of Yang Qingyin’s dorm room at an extremely fast pace.

Yang Qingyin had just come to open the door, and before she could react, Luo Ziling had barged into the dorm.

“You gave me a scare,” Yang Qingyin said with a mix of surprise and joy as she closed the door. “You weren’t seen by the dorm manager, were you?”

“You underestimate my skills,” Luo Ziling said with a laugh, pulling out a tightly wrapped package of night snacks from his pocket. “You live on the second floor, if I want to get in, there are plenty of ways to do it.”

As he spoke, he pointed at the window, “Next time I come, I might as well just climb in through the window. It’s risk-free.”

For someone with the agility of Luo Ziling, jumping into a second-floor window without bars was a piece of cake.

“Do you do this kind of thing often?” Yang Qingyin asked with a giggle, her hand covering her mouth. “Are you descended from a family of flower-picking thieves?”

“What? How could that be possible?” Luo Ziling quickly denied. “I just know a bit of martial arts, that’s all.”

“Then you’re like a wall-scaling, roof-hopping flower thief, someone like Tian Boguang,” Yang Qingyin said, her laughter muffled behind her hand.

Happening to have read Jin’s “The Smiling, Proud Wanderer,” Luo Ziling bristled at her words. “How dare you mock me like this? I’ll show you how I teach you a lesson.”

With that, he reached out to tickle Yang Qingyin’s waist.

The already ticklish Yang Qingyin, laughing behind her hand, couldn’t bear it when Luo Ziling tickled her and her body went limp as she pleaded for mercy. “Junior, stop tickling! Isn’t it enough that I admit I misspoke?”

Luo Ziling also stopped his hands accordingly.

Only then did he have the chance to look around Yang Qingyin’s dorm room.

The dorm room, which was also meant for four people, had Yang Qingyin living in the lower bunk just like Luo Ziling. A girls’ dorm was neater than a boys’; at least Yang Qingyin’s dorm was very tidy and spotlessly clean. Each girl’s belongings were neatly arranged, especially Yang Qingyin’s, which were impeccably organized.

Luo Ziling also noticed a black computer on Yang Qingyin’s desk, bearing the words “IBM” and “ThinkPad,” though he didn’t know the brand. The computer was on, displaying a photo of him taken in Liushu Gou.

“Heh heh, I do look handsome,” Luo Ziling couldn’t help but boast after seeing his dashing photo, “Even better looking than those famous stars.”

Seeing Luo Ziling looking so smug, Yang Qingyin couldn’t help but retort, “Who could possibly be as narcissistic as you?”

“If I saw a photo of senior sister looking prettier than mine, I would praise you a lot to make you happy too,” Luo Ziling said, starting to open the food container, ready to share a late-night snack with Yang Qingyin.

Yang Qingyin couldn’t help but laugh at Luo Ziling’s words, “All you know is how to sweet-talk.”

After spending a little time with Luo Ziling, the irritation in Yang Qingyin’s heart had completely vanished. Watching him speak teasingly with such ease and seeing his handsome features and clear eyes, Yang Qingyin felt that inviting Luo Ziling to the dorm to look at photos and have snacks was a very wise decision indeed.

At least for now, her mood was greatly improved. Naturally, she also found it very thrilling.

What would happen next…
