The Young Urban Doctor

Chapter 313: 313 Don’t Forget to Invite Me to the Wedding Banquet

“I also came over for some patriotism education,” Yang Qingyin suddenly popped up and looked at Luo Ziling mischievously, then immediately greeted Li Haiyang, “Uncle Li, hello!”

“So it’s the Yang family’s little granddaughter,” Li Haiyang replied with a smile, his eyes glancing over Yang Qingyin and then at Luo Ziling, all gossipy.

When Li Haiyang was expressionless, he had an authoritative air that was quite intimidating.

But when he smiled, his authority wasn’t as overwhelming.

Yang Qingyin, who had seen the world, had many family members holding positions higher than Li Haiyang’s, and with Luo Ziling by her side, she wasn’t as constrained around Li Haiyang as most people would be, and greeted him very politely.

Li Haiyang’s somewhat teasing smile made Luo Ziling feel a bit embarrassed. He quickly explained, “We didn’t plan to meet, it’s just a coincidence.”

Li Haiyang didn’t explain anything and just smiled meaningfully.

He had advised Luo Ziling that it would be best not to associate with Yang Qingyin, at least not in public. Unexpectedly, Luo Ziling didn’t take it to heart and met with Yang Qingyin here today. He sighed inwardly, but only gave them a strange look and didn’t say anything.

“Uncle Li, since it’s a coincidence we met, I’ll also join you for a tour and listen to your explanation of the People’s Army’s military history, may I?” Yang Qingyin obviously noticed the oddity in Li Haiyang’s eyes. She believed Li Haiyang knew a lot, but didn’t mind it and instead asked freely.

“Having such a lovely young lady join me on the tour makes me very happy,” Li Haiyang didn’t refuse and readily accepted.

So, Yang Qingyin also immediately stood next to Luo Ziling and together they pushed the wheelchair forward.

As per Yang Qingyin’s request, Li Haiyang also shared a lot of information related to the history of the People’s Army.

Luo Ziling didn’t know much about these topics, and as a girl, Yang Qingyin didn’t know much either, so both listened with keen interest.

Throughout the tour, there was quite a lot of conversation between Li Haiyang and Yang Qingyin.

Yang Qingyin was very generous and without any reservations, which made Li Haiyang develop a fondness for this beautiful young lady.

After the visit to the National Museum had concluded, Li Haiyang had to attend the opening ceremony of another exhibition scheduled for the afternoon.

There was a historical weapons development exhibition at the Military Museum, which he also planned to attend.

Therefore, lunch was a casual affair at the museum, a very simple meal provided by the hosts consisting of two dishes and a soup.

Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin joined him for the meal.

“Qingyin, do your family members know you came here today?” Li Haiyang asked quietly during the meal.

“I’m here for some patriotism education, they surely wouldn’t forbid that, right?” Yang Qingyin replied nonchalantly, smiling at Li Haiyang’s question: “Anyway, my grandpa always reminds me to get more education in this area.”

Li Haiyang didn’t ask any further, just looked at her meaningfully a few times, and then at Luo Ziling.

Although Luo Ziling really wanted to say something, he felt too embarrassed to say much in front of Yang Qingyin.

In the afternoon activities, Luo Ziling was still accompanying Li Haiyang, and Yang Qingyin didn’t leave either; she followed them to the Military Museum to see the exhibition.

The opening ceremony ended, and while Luo Ziling was pushing Li Haiyang’s wheelchair to view the exhibits, she remained by their side.

Luo Ziling was quite surprised by Yang Qingyin’s behavior today.

Although the two of them didn’t have a date alone, they were still having fun together.

Moreover, their public appearances at the National Museum and Military Museum were a clear indication of Yang Qingyin’s attitude.

This warmed Luo Ziling’s heart, and his gaze towards Yang Qingyin grew more tender.

Li Haiyang didn’t ask further, happily explaining the development process and history of the People’s Army weapons over the past decades. Both of them listened with interest, and from time to time, Luo Ziling asked questions like a curious baby.

At three o’clock in the afternoon, their visit came to an end, and Li Haiyang was pushed to a guest room not open to the public to rest. The staff prepared tea, pastries, and fruits for them, and with the help of Luo Ziling and the nurses, Li Haiyang, who had been sitting for a long time, lay down on the couch for a while.

After having some tea and pastries, Li Haiyang asked Luo Ziling to go out and look around by himself, “Ziling, as a passionate man, you should learn more about the military. There are many galleries you haven’t seen yet. Go take a look, and I’ll have the Yang family girl keep me company for a bit.”

Li Haiyang’s instructions surprised both Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin.

In the end, Luo Ziling didn’t ask anything and obediently went out to continue receiving patriotic education, while Yang Qingyin stayed to talk to Li Haiyang.

“Qingyin, you probably guessed what I’d ask, right?” After Li Haiyang chuckled and asked, he didn’t wait for Yang Qingyin to answer and directly asked, “Aren’t you afraid of being scolded by your grandfather and father for accompanying Ziling and me today?”

“I’m not afraid. My grandfather won’t stop us from hanging out together anymore,” Yang Qingyin said, her expression a bit peculiar.

“Why?” Li Haiyang was very surprised and couldn’t help but ask.

“Because my grandfather wants to use me to ruin Ziling. So even if we’re seen together, they’ll pretend not to see,” she said, and the smile that had been on Yang Qingyin’s face was gone, replaced by a hint of sadness.

Li Haiyang didn’t ask further, just looked at Yang Qingyin with a slight frown.

Li Haiyang’s presence was quite imposing, and his gaze still made Yang Qingyin feel pressured.

In the end, Yang Qingyin still explained, “Please be assured, Uncle Li, I know what to do. I don’t wish for the grudges of the older generation to be continued by us.”

Looking into Yang Qingyin’s clear and resolute eyes, Li Haiyang’s gaze softened.

“Actually, you and Ziling are quite a good match,” Li Haiyang said with a smile, but he warned again, “But you can’t ignore the aftermath of the incident from twenty years ago. Ziling is a very outstanding person, and I wouldn’t want him to be ruined.”

“Thank you for the reminder, Uncle Li,” Yang Qingyin said earnestly, “We’ll be careful, and we hope that because of us, the old enmity can be completely resolved.”

“Hopefully,” Li Haiyang smiled again, “when you two get married, don’t forget to invite me to the wedding banquet!”

With that remark, Yang Qingyin blushed.
