The Young Urban Doctor

Chapter 419: Accidentally Picking Up a Beauty

After walking hand in hand with Luo Ziling for a few steps, when they reached a spot on the edge where there were no other visitors, Yang Qingyin stopped.

“I originally thought it would take you at least an hour to find this place,” said Yang Qingyin with a touch of triumph on her face. She then seriously asked Luo Ziling, “How did you guess I was here?”

“Is it not because our hearts are in harmony?” Luo Ziling smiled radiantly. “I felt certain you would be waiting for me here, so I dashed all the way to this place.”

Yang Qingyin tilted her head and asked again, “The Gengzhitu Scenic Area has so many spots, how did you think of me being here?”

“Because Shuicun House is the simplest and also has the most charm of the South, so I guessed you were here,” said Luo Ziling as he held Yang Qingyin’s hand again, his face still beaming with a radiant smile. “You once said that in a small-farm economy era, living a life of men plowing and women weaving with someone you like would also satisfy you. You said it right here, so I guessed you would be here.”

“Alright, your answer and your performance, I give you full marks,” Yang Qingyin finally revealed a smile. “Originally, I was thinking if you didn’t show up after I had been waiting here for an hour, I would just leave and not wait for you.”

“Since I performed so splendidly, shouldn’t there be some sort of reward for me?” Luo Ziling said as he leaned his head in close, looking at Yang Qingyin earnestly. “You should know, I sprinted from the school to here at a hundred-meter dash pace. At least ten kilometers, and I made it in less than half an hour; you should reward me in some way.”

“Not being honest at all,” Yang Qingyin stretched out a finger and gently tapped Luo Ziling’s forehead. “It’s not ten kilometers from the school to here, and you couldn’t possibly run the whole way at the speed of a hundred-meter sprint; no one in the world can run several kilometers at the pace of a hundred-meter sprint.”

“Okay, I admit there were some inaccuracies in my description, but I did run here as fast as I could. You could try walking back to school from here and see how long it takes.” Seeing that Yang Qingyin was willing to joke with him, Luo Ziling breathed a sigh of relief.

“Rewarding you on my own initiative, and you asking for a reward yourself, have completely different flavors, you know,” Yang Qingyin said, rolling her eyes at Luo Ziling. “I find you quite dishonest, often deceiving me; I’ll have to be more cautious in the future.”

“Can I say that I’m many times more wronged than Dou E?”

“You can’t, because no one has wronged you!”

“The person who has wronged me is standing right in front of me, how can there be no one?”

“Hmph, I’m not talking to you anymore,” Yang Qingyin acted petulantly and turned to walk away, but did not pull her hand away from Luo Ziling’s grasp.

Luo Ziling hurriedly followed, talking as they walked, “Of the entire Summer Palace, it seems that this area is the quietest. Why did you run here? Aren’t you worried about being kidnapped to become The Lady in Charge of Suppressing Bandits? You should know, you’re so beautiful that any man who sees you would be moved.”

When he had first seen Yang Qingyin, he noticed that she hadn’t made any deliberate effort to dress up, but appeared in her natural state, not even wearing glasses, her stunning beauty naturally drawing everyone’s attention.

Luo Ziling was curious, so he couldn’t resist using the opportunity to tease her and asked her the reason.

“So, were you moved?” Yang Qingyin looked cunningly at Luo Ziling, “Have you ever thought of snatching me away to become The Lady in Charge of Suppressing Bandits?”

“Of course, I was moved,” Luo Ziling grinned. “Do you know how fast my heart was beating when I glimpsed your figure? It almost leaped out of my throat. My heart didn’t beat this fast when I ran all the way here from the school.”

“I don’t believe you,” Yang Qingyin rolled her eyes and adorably sniffled. “You’re just making things up; after running several kilometers, how could your heart not beat fast?”

“Ever since I was young, I’ve always lived in places of high altitude, getting used to intense physical activity; my heart has a larger output volume than the average person’s, so my heartbeat doesn’t become as intense as that of ordinary people after vigorous exercise,” Luo Ziling explained, before grinning again. “Only when I’m emotionally excited does my heartbeat speed up.”

“It must have been some pretty girl you saw before you found me that made your heart race, right? You can’t blame that on me,” Yang Qingyin said, revealing a crafty smile as if she had just sneaked a chick from an old fox.

Seeing Yang Qingyin’s adorable expression, all the gloom in Luo Ziling’s heart vanished in an instant.

Taking advantage of the moment Yang Qingyin looked up at him, Luo Ziling quickly pecked her on the lips, then let go of her hand and sprinted away.

Yang Qingyin immediately became indignant and chased after him, full of vexation, but at the corner of a small cabin, Luo Ziling’s figure was nowhere to be seen.

Knowing that he must be hiding somewhere, planning to jump out and tease her, Yang Qingyin deliberately ignored it and turned to leave.

But just as she turned around, she saw someone standing behind her and let out a startled shout.

No sooner had the shout escaped her lips than she was scooped up in an embrace and carried off at a run, with Luo Ziling’s laughter ringing out, “I accidentally found a beauty in the Summer Palace and am running off to make her The Lady in Charge of Suppressing Bandits.”

Several onlookers who saw and heard all this were stunned speechless.

But Luo Ziling, holding Yang Qingyin, didn’t care at all and kept running until they left the Shuicun House scenic spot and reached the lakeside.

Once Luo Ziling held her, Yang Qingyin, fearing she might fall, subconsciously wrapped her arms around his waist. At first, she thought about struggling down, but after writhing a bit, she gave up and let him hold her.

Along the way, she made a few mischievous moves, nimbling pinching Luo Ziling’s waist with her agile fingers to vent her frustrations.

When Luo Ziling finally stopped underneath a willow tree, seeing no one around, he took the opportunity to kiss Yang Qingyin a few times. Yang Qingyin, coyly yet welcomingly, let him take his liberties without thinking of struggling down.

“Let’s keep walking that way,” Luo Ziling motioned with his mouth toward the front, “and circle back from there.”

Luo Ziling had not finished speaking when his phone in his pocket rang.

Hearing the ringtone, Luo Ziling immediately took out his phone with one hand.

He had set a unique ringtone for Ling Ruonan, knowing it was her calling, so he dared not ignore it.

“Yue, come over for dinner tonight, I’ll have Wuyue pick you up.” As soon as the call connected, Ling Ruonan’s gentle voice came through, “I also want to talk to you about something.”

“Mom, I’m out having fun right now, how about I come over by myself later!” Luo Ziling responded, somewhat embarrassed.

Ling Ruonan, being as astute as she is, immediately understood the situation and quietly asked, “Are you playing with Yang Qingyin?”

“Yeah,” Luo Ziling eventually didn’t deny it.

“Then come over together for dinner, your mom would like to chat with her.”

“That’s…”
