Chapter 113: Ulterior Motive
A furrow settled in between his brows as he sniffed the air and realised that he couldn't smell Andres's scent.
"Why isn't he here?" Levi frowned as he looked around the tower. "This is weird," he remarked. "Shouldn't he be here?" If Andres wanted to use the orbs to broadcast the sound all over the island, he should have been here.
But even though the man left the praying hall before them, he wasn't there.
"Someone should be here," Xavier swept his gaze sharply through the entire circular hall in front of them. "Since broadcasting the Doomsday melody is their goal, someone should have come here."
As the two men were looking around the tower, they didn't notice the man who was hanging upside down at the side of the circular tower. His lips curled up in a sneer as he stretched out his fingers and then shot out a spray of spider webs at the men who were standing on the ground.
As the sticky web got closer and closer to the two men, Alton's smile turned wide. He let out a triumphant scoff—
But just as the spider web was an inch away from Xavier, the man jumped and dodged the attack with a whoosh.
Levi on the other hand twisted and swung his hand on the web string smashing it against the wall and tearing it in half.
For his small size, the crater that he created on the wall was way too big.
Slip.
The man who was sticking on the side of the wall like a spider slipped down the wall with the help of a web string. He looked at the wolf beast man and the boar one.
He sneered at them, "You two really have sharp instincts. Because of those survival instincts, you are still standing."
"It's you." Levi shook off the web strings that were sticking to the back of his hand. "Why is it you?"
He thought that they would be facing Andres after coming here.
"Our leader has more important things to do than take care of a few flies," Alton remarked with a tilt of his head. "He doesn't have the time to play with you."
"It seems like you have some other plan," Xavier said. "Do you really have to work so hard to cause trouble for us? Can't you use your brains to do something worthwhile?"
"That's right,"said Levi but then he paused and blinked. He seemed to be quite surprised with the fact that he had agreed to something with Xavier.
He turned to look at the man and raised his fist before saying to him, "Now you better come clean with us, what are you aiming for."
At the Guild Masters Association,
"Godric, how are you doing? I heard that you have picked another weirdo... Why do you always pick weirdos?"
A woman said to Master Godric. She was dressed in a flamboyant white dress that showed off her voluptuous figure. She leaned down and showed off her generous bosom, while looking at Master Godric, "But is the man good looking though? If that is the case then I might be able to understand your actions."
She winked at Master Godric who simply smiled at her.
"Master Bloom, it seems like the men in your guild are not able to satisfy you," he used his forefinger to push the woman away from him. "Is that why you are targeting someone from my guild? I don't think this is right, though."
"Haha, of course not," Lady Bloom tittered lightly as she leaned against Master Godric. "I was just curious. You always pick some really interesting beast men, the last time one of them blew an entire port away, did she not?"
"If you are talking about Gina? Then she indeed did it but I assure you that the person was asking for it," Master Godric said to Bloom who chuckled in response.
"Of course they were," Bloom agreed with him. "Gina is a sweet soul, she wouldn't have done anything that would harm others for no reason." as she spoke she lifted the drink in front of her and took a swig from it.
Her expression turned sombre as she lowered her voice and asked, "Did you hear about the rumours that are flying around the city?"
"I did," master Godric replied. His expression was no longer calm as he turned to look at Bloom and asked her, "Have you heard about Doomsday as well?"
"I did," Bloom replied as she tucked a strand of her black hair behind her ear. "I even tried to warn the guards as well as the magistrate but it seems like they are not going to make a move unless something really tragic happens."

"Or maybe they know that the tragedy is not going to take place in the city?" Lord Godric remarked with a sharp gaze.
"Not in the city?" Lady Bloom raised a brow and questioned, "Where do you think those people are going to attack?"
"Who knows?" Master Godric muttered as he peered out of the window that was on his side.
**
The sound of chattering echoed outside the Tower of Helion. The crowd standing outside, did not leave if anything they redoubled their efforts to enter the temple after they saw Wistoria and the others enter.
"Why did you let them go inside but not us!?"
"We want to pray too."
"Let us go inside as well."
The people yelled and screamed as they looked at the guards who were stopping them from entering the temple.
"Please go back—"
"Look, someone is coming outside!"
No one paid attention to what the guard was saying, instead they all turned to look in the direction in which the man had pointed at.
A dark silhouette could be seen moving towards them which made the crowd excited but when the silhouette turned clearer, they all stepped away.
"Head.. it is the head of a person!"
